Translation

Before you rely on it:Machine translation is a drafting aid, not a signed deliverable. Most formats currently output plain text; Word (.docx) format-preserving output is being rolled out. Have a qualified engineer check anything contractual, safety-related or going to a client.

How it works

The file is read on the server and nothing is stored from it: the extracted text goes to a domain translation service with a construction & BIM terminology base, which translates paragraph by paragraph and keeps repeated terms consistent across the document. Scanned files have no text layer, so they come back empty.

Limits

Up to 8 MB per file; 500 pages or fewer recommended (over 500 pages can still be translated directly but carries a higher risk of interruption). Word (.docx) format-preserving output is being rolled out; PDF/Excel/PowerPoint currently output plain text.
